A massive thank you to all involved in this. I want to thank Emma Pearson for organising all of this and to Sam Fitzgerald (the outside business person from Proactive Education) who was enthusiastic and organised the business people (one ex-Shenley Brook End students in there too!). I would say, talking to business people, students and staff that it went very well!

Hi Sam, just a note to say what a lovely group of young people we met at Campion yesterday. They were largely shy and some were nervous but all were polite, listened and i hope seemed to get a lot out of the experience. It was a pleasure to help such lovely youngters in how to think about interviews. Please pass on my compliments to the Head Teacher!

Sam I don’t know what it is that you do that means all our ambassadors have such a great time volunteering with you – but whatever it is keep doing it! Absolute superstar! Thank you. Jack

Regarding our working relationship that we have had over the past few years (since 2011 from memory?), it has grown with both of us understanding each other’s needs from undertaking community work. We have worked together on a number of projects and these have always been successfully from both sides (if some of the school events haven’t been as well run as others then you have taken my feedback on board – although this will be down to the school rather than yourself). We have an excellent open and honest relationship that I believe works for us both and this has led to some excellent activities being delivered. Sam is honest, hardworking, delivers on her promises, she has a cheery personality that helps get people on her side too and fun to work with (which is important).

Sam has been excellent in forging a strong working relationship with the Barclaycard group over the last 3 years. She has always been proactive in reaching out to key personnel in the organisation and gaining support for the various events she manages. The instructions are always very clear, the agenda and format always communicated before the day and expectations on our involvement and preparation are always in a timely manner. The feedback I have received from the many colleagues who have partaken in these excellent events is of the highest quality, backed by the numbers who opt to volunteer again and again, year after year. I can say that Sam has really grown and developed this relationship and she is wonderfully passionate about her role and the students at the heart of these events – it is a pleasure working with her and I hope we continue this for many years to come

I always enjoy working on SWAN projects Samantha has organised as one can turn up at an event confident it has been well researched, will be well managed on the day and will be relevant to the needs of the students who gain so much from the sessions. It is important participating professionals, who give up their valuable time to attend such events, feel their involvement is worthwhile: Samantha's intelligent attention to detail and ability to bring people together certainly ensures this is felt - hence the many repeat contributors to events over the years, and the number of educational institutions willing to host them for their students. Always enthusiastic, Samantha has the enviable ability to communicate with confidence at many different levels; and in my opinion is an excellent exponent of being able to link varied industry professionals with the sometimes insular environment in schools and colleges where there may be a reluctance to perhaps try something new. Samantha works hard to encourage schools and colleges to engage in a wide range of very productive sessions and to forge and maintain the essential industry links - no mean feat, especially in these challenging times!

Sam’s contribution to Campion School has been outstanding over the years. This is the first year I have worked with Sam and I have found her expertise, enthusiasm and drive to be invaluable. She has offered both advice and resources to help with both drop-down days and PHSE lessons. Sam’s greatest contribution has been the number of employer’s she has provided for these day, which without them, the days would not have been as successful. She briefs them in details before they work with the students to enable the days to run smoothly. So far this year, we will have had the expertise and knowledge of over 80 employer work with students at Campion.

Samantha has worked with Sponne school to arrange employer visits for Sixth Form students to enable them to have CV workshops and mock interviews. She has also arranged for a variety of employers to speak to Yr10 students about their careers and give them insight into the world of law, engineering, accounting and logistics to name but a few. She has worked professionally and tirelessly to ensure these days run smoothly so the students and the employers time has been well used and both gain from the experience. We could not run these events without her dedication and enthusiasm and look forward to continuing this for a long time to come.
